What a roller coaster!

I started having contractions yesterday and decided to head to the hospital because we live 50 minutes away and they were starting to get painful. I was feeling a lot of pressure in my butt and hip area. We get to the hospital and they tell us they are going to monitor us for a bit and decide to keep us. I was 3cm when we got there and after 2 hours I was 5cm. They told us again they are going to monitor me and make a decision. An hour later I was still at 5cm but my contractions were 3-4minutes apart. The midwife told us she wanted to send us home and if we were ok with that decision. I told her we live really far away and my contractions are where they are supposed to be and I am clearly in pain, my mood had changed drastically from when we got there to when they were sending us home. My husband said we weren't leaving, what was our other options... She said she could give us 4 more hours and see where we are at and decide then and literally a minute later my son's heart rate dropped due to have really intense and close contractions. They through the oxygen on me and and had 5 people in the room within seconds. The midwife said she was glad we decided to stick around because this happened. They started my IV and pictocin after an hour. At 10am they broke my water and at 10:50 I was pushing! 3 contractions later I have birth to my little red head 😀 8lbs 3oz, 21 1/4 inches long! The midwife didn't want me to stay at the hospital because I wasn't 39 weeks yet, I was 38.6weeks. I was glad my husband said no and asked for other options before they kicked us out!
