Opt out of Glucose Test?

Can you opt out of the glucose test? Even my doctor said it was a joke for me to take it, I'm wondering if I have to. This is baby #3 and I passed the others with flying colors. I'm 107lbs at 25weeks.

I know many plus size women who passed and women who are skinny that fail. Just because your small doesn't mean you won't or can't get it. It's not that big of dela. I'd rather do it and be safe.

You can definetly opt out, but by doing so there's a chance that you can have gestational diabetes and that can cause a world of problems for both you and baby.

My Dr said each pregnancy is different. I had it for my first 2 pregnancies, not my third (I'm not overweight), it has to do with the function of your pancreas and 3rd trimester hormones, not weight or lifestyle. Honestly the 1 hr test isn't bad at all. My dr let me refuse the 3 hr after I failed the 1 hour but I had to monitor my sugar levels every day.

Not every pregnancy is the same and it could be potentially dangerous to baby if you did have GD and it went unmonitored. It doesn't seem worth the risk.

Update: I took it, didn't get sick because I ate immediately after. And passes with flying colors. Doc still laughed because she thinks it was silly for me to take it, knowing I would pass.

It's your pregnancy. No body can make you do something u don't want. I'd cancel if it's an appt or something and just tell ur doc
