Birth control pills and pregnancy

I just finished my last pack of my old birth control, I just took my very first pill of my new birth control brand. Do I need to wait the 7 days for unprotected sex or am I still protected because I have been taking the other one for a year. I had unprotected sex this morning and I want to know if switching birth controls can make it so that I do get pregnant because they're different types of pills and because I just had my week of placebo pills.
