First, I don't agree with the B word in this but do you agree the gorilla was killed because a parent wasn't watching their child?
Second: I've seen one other post about it but in a different way so if this subject has been posted too many times I apologize in advance. 
I personally do blame the mother for not watching her child. Yes I know it's easy for people to get into the exhibits but if you're watching your kids them it wouldn't have happened.

Agreed. That gentle creature should have never been captured for human entertainment, and then killed because of some idiot parents. I would charge the parents in a heartbeat.

Maybe if we didn't shove animals who need room and their natural habitat into a tiny little hole, hidden behind gates and glass, this poor baby wouldn't have died, and the toddler wouldn't have gotten hurt

Honestly I blame the zoo for not making it secure enough. I don't blame the Mom because things simply happen. She was watching several other kids as well. No Mom can say they keep their eyes on one child 24/7 and don't move them. It should not have been open enough for him to slip through the gate.

I do not blame the zoo for shooting him however. They saw an imminent danger and a tranquilizer wouldn't have worked as quickly as they needed it to. If your baby was in an exhibit with a wild animal would you be begging mercy on the animal? Hell no. You would be terrified. If it came down to an animals life or a young boys life...a young boys is more important.

Agreed completely. How hard is it to prevent your child from falling into an exhibit at the zoo? Not that fucking hard. If you watch your kid, they won't fall into it. Plain and simple.

Once the situation was happening I understand why it had to happen but the whole situation shouldn't have happened in the first place. If your child is a runner and there are wild animals around then put him on a leash or something. I hate child leashes but this is showing me they might actually not be that bad. That kid wouldn't have gotten beat up by A gorilla and the animal that didn't no better wouldn't have been killed. The whole situation pisses me off.

So it's the zoos fault for the woman not watching her child? Or should the zoo have been the one watching her child? I'm confused. If you've been to this zoo, it's not easy to get in and it takes time so idk how it's the zoos fault. It's not like there's a huge opening saying "come on in!!"

Yes, parents need to watch their kids. But what if she has two kids and one is a toddler and was running in the opposite direction, she chases after him and the 4 year old gets into the exhibit?

Don't be so quick to judge other moms we're all doing the best we can, we need support from one another because the world is quick to tell us we don't do enough.

I don't care how the kid got in, there is no need to blame the mom or the zoo, the point is the kid got in. And when it comes down to the kid's life or the gorilla's, you better believe I'm killing the gorilla.
