New guy is to rough...

So I've been seeing a guy for a month talking to him longer than that. He isn't open at all. He only talks about unimportant stuff. He isn't much of a talker which kind of bugs me. He also is very rough with his hands. I have talked to him about it and he said he'd be easier. He was once. This time he was rough again! I say easy, easy, be easy. I'm not sure if he doesn't get it or doesn't care... I like being his friend and I want to help him, but I can't help someone that doesn't want my help. What should I do?
