Cannabinoids In Breast Milk

I researched this, and ended up reading an article by the National Library of Medicine about how marijuana can help different things, but that's besides the point.

What I'm actually curious about, is what are the cannabinoids for in breast milk? I don't want to read information from a biased website, which is a lot of what comes up.

And no, this is not for a "is it ok to breastfeed and smoke weed" debate. To each their own with that.

I'm curious about the scientific reason our bodies will naturally produce the cannabinoids for the baby.
