Mixing formula and breast milk?

Question

Anyone mix breast milk and formula for feedings? I want to try to see if it helps him sleep. Anyone else do this? What ratio do you do, half and half?

I've been doing this the past week because I'm passing a kidney stone and have a kidney infection and the medication they have me isn't safe for me to nurse so I had to dip into my frozen stash. I honestly have noticed much of a difference in his sleep habits, but he is going through a major growth spurt I swear the kid has doubled in size this week and he's eating a LOT more then he was!

I do half and half. My 6w old eats 3-4 oz at a time so I'll do 2oz breastmilk and 2oz formula. Recently I started just pumping at night and bottle feeding formula with breastmilk to get more sleep! It takes me 10 minutes to pump, but 20-30 minutes to BF and any minutes count in the middle of the night! It's made a big difference because we're all getting more sleep. Baby sleeps 3-4 hours at a time during the night vs 2-3. Hope this helps!

My baby does really well since this is how I feed her anyway. I never put more breast milk then I know she will drink since I don't want to waste the precious few ounces that I do produce. I pump as much as I can and add the remainder in formula that I know she will eat. I wish I made enough milk, but have always had to supplement. I tend to pump anywhere from 1-3 ounces and she eats 2-3. The ratio depends on what I pump. I also have her nurse what she can.

Worked for me! Now I just do formula at night. It's much more filling.

My 1st daughter started sleeping through the night around 6wks. She would eat a ton before bed and I couldn't keep up with nursing.  I would BF last feeding and then I would give her 2-3oz formula right after.
