Toilet paper

So I never knew some people threw out their toilet paper because their toilet couldn't handle it. I've always flushed because it was the way I was taught but recently my boyfriend and I were talking and someone that came into the conversation and I was surprised. So I was wondering just how many people flush or throw out because idk which is the most popular or "accepted"
