Tetanus shot

Hey ladies! I got bit by my sister's dog. His teeth didn't really go in my leg. It was more like a scratch. It's very bruised and pinkish. My aunt made me get a tetanus shot. Well found out that it has really bad side effects. Basically your arm hurts for at least a week, you can get a fever, headache, etc. Well I have a headache now and wanting to take advil or ibuprofen for the pain. Would that be alright or not?
