DNA Test for abnormalities and gender

Okay so hubby and I can't decide if we should have the blood test done at the appointment this friday.

On the one hand, we REALLY want to know the gender!!

On the other hand, I'm afraid if it comes back positive for genetic abnormalities it will only make me stress out for the rest of my pregnancy. Either way, this is my baby and I will keep him/her no matter what the results are. But if know, will I be more prepared, or just more stressed?

Anyone else have this dilemma??
