Anyone having difficulty with insulin and insurance?

My insulin goes up about every week, well just recently my insurance has been saying that I'm going through it too fast. My perinatologist said with twins it's likely to keep going up. I've already paid $150 out of pocket bc I have to have it. I'm just concerned that I can't keep paying for it for the next two months. The pharmacist called the insurance and found out that they're not counting the day I change my dose. He compared it to filling your car with gas but not being able to drive home until the next day. Has anyone else had an issue like this or any advice on what else I can do to keep from paying out of pocket?
