Where can I find a motherly figure?

My mom never wants to spend time with me. I've always had issues with feeling unloved by her. Someone told me that I can heal if I find other motherly figures. No one's really looked out for me my whole life so I dont have anyone in mind. How can I find someone and build that type of bond/relationship with someone I don't even know yet?

You can't "replace" her. 
If this is true it would have worked for me five years ago. My mother was always rude and abusive with me I think of my best friends mother as my own, but I still have it in the back of my mind I wonder what it would be like if my mom wasn't such an jerk and I had an actual relationship.

It can be anyone. Heck I'm a mother figure to most friends in my group. And I'm the youngest.

Do you have an aunt? Perhaps a teacher or a counselor, maybe a neighbor also. Hmm it could be someone in your community that you trust enough.

Whoever told yo that you have to tell your parents is full of shit. Google support groups or women's groups in your area- there are also usually support groups at local mental health clinics.

I found my motherly figure in my bible study mentor.. She goes to brunch with me, pays over me, doesn't judge, truly loves me.. If your in a church i suggest looking for a loving bible study group.. I've known my motherly figure for 12 years..

If you're religious you can probably find someone in your place of worship. There are support groups that exist kind of like AA or NA that could be helpful to you. I'd also make sure that you're in therapy to address that issue.
