Breast feeding

Hi I'm after some advice on breastfeeding...this will be my first time ever breastfeeding with my 3rd my first 2 were both on special baby care so was best to bottle feed where as on this one I'm deciding to try and breastfed...does it hurt to express milk ?? And how many times roughly do you express in a day ?? Tia :)
