Midwife won't see me...

I am 37 weeks 1 day and i ain't had an appointment since 34 weeks. I was meant to make an appointment for wednesday, i phoned my surgery and they said no appointments left for that day which is the only day the midwife comes to my surgery. So i phoned the midwife and she said iust make an appointment for the following wednesday. I will be 2 days off 39 weeks, should she not see me sooner as i ain't had appointment since 34 weeks? That's quite a long time!
