People that cheat.. why do you do it? No judgement, just curious!

I wanted to see if people would be honest about cheating. I want to know why you would or what the situation was..

I recently got cheated on by a guy that I was engaged too and thought we were in love. He's only asked me to marry him a month ago. I truly I'm dumbfounded I don't get why or what happened.

I'm not polling this to pick out the cheaters I'm really wondering why people cheat.

Please no judgements...

People may tell you a ton of excuses I mean reasons lol but it all boils down to the same all cheaters have one thing in common they are selfish. And selfish people don't Carr about doing g what's right they care about getting what they want right now.

1st off I'm beyond sorry you got cheated on that's horrible and I assure you are not the problem it was all his! 
I've never cheated but I've had friends that did. I questioned them on it and they say they're many reasons most common ones are they weren't getting what they wanted in the relationship, some say they stared getting more people noticing that them hitting on them and couldn't resist. Some say they didn't know how else to get out of a relationship.

For me it was because I was in such an abusive (mentally and physically) relationship. It felt like it was my only way of having any control about what happened to me and my body. 
I'm not saying I'm proud of it but I'm not saying I would change anything if I could to back... It really did help me loosen the noose around my life. I really could have handled the situation better and I understand that.. This was when I was 17 though and those who have been in really abusive relationships know how hard they are to leave..

I think most people cheat because there's some need their partners aren't fulfilling for them. Also, with the Internet, it definitely makes it easy to loss sight of reality, because of the anonymity and the instant gratification that comes from several people bestowing attention. I think there's a sense that "I'll never meet this person, so it's fine."

I have never cheated, but there are many reasons why people cheat. It all starts within themselves and rarely has anything to do with the partner. They may be attention seekers, they may be insecure or have low self-esteem, which causes them to seek approval from many different people, especially after the initial infatuation phase of a relationship is over. They may be confused about what love actually is. They may not believe that they deserve a person as good as you and subconsciously try to sabotage it, it's called self sabotage. They may be unfulfilled in their own lives, and they are relying on the relationship for happiness and fulfillment, but don't realize that true fulfillment and happiness comes only from within yourself, so they look for it everywhere outside of themselves to fill that void. They may not be ready for a real committed relationship. They may be testing the waters before really settling down. They may be a sex addict. In that case their partner is never enough. In some cases, they may have actually fallen in love with another person and afraid to hurt you. There are just so many reasons why people cheat. It's really something they have to figure out within themselves, we can never figure out what it really is for them. It is better to not try to figure out why because it will drive you crazy, and just know that it's something within them.

I have never cheated on my current boyfriend but I cheated on my ex-fiancee. I was young in college not even 21 and he was a couple years older than me mad cause I went to college. I was getting lonely he wasn't talking to me like we use to. He had started acting different and I found out he was cheating so I started cheated mostly because he stop being there for me emotionally. I didn't leave because I was young and so in love, he was one of my high school sweetheart. We had been together for years I was hoping we was going to just go back to being us. So for a couple years I had me a side bf. While he did him. After I realized we would never be the same we just couldn't fix us.
