How affected will I be?

Okay so I decided to try birth control pills and I started taking them this past Sunday on the first day of my period like I was instructed. Since then, I've been super moody, retaining water like mad, crying a lot, etc. and I've realized this just isn't for me (I've been very iffy about trying it anyway). So I didn't take my pill for today and I'm not taking them anymore. Will this greatly affect my next period, like delay it? Or did I not take it long enough to really make a difference?
