Why all the csection hate?

Question

Lots of talk on other boards about breechbabies and  people who absolutely dont want csections. Why all the hate? If a doctor recommends it as the safest option...why hate?

I'm not against it if medically necessary, but I don't want it to be the immediate option.

I honestly don't understand why doctors jump to a c-section for breech babies. We have several doctors in my area who do vaginal births for breech babies. One of them did two triplet VBACs in a year.

If it's an emergency, sure, but I think it's severely overused.

I feel like sometimes c-sections are suggested when they are NOT medically necessary (as was the case for my first). Sometimes they are necessary though. You have to make your personal decision.

Also, I've heard they are FAR harder to recover from, can result in more complications, and result in later c-sections versus vaginal deliveries.

I don't hate on people for getting a c-section, be it elective or emergency. Their body their choice. Now personally? I absolutely hate hate hate hate the idea of having one, aside from in the case of serious emergency. My last birth was a c-section. The surgery went great. My baby was wonderful. The doctors were amazing, and the nursing staff even more so. I still hated it. I went into the OR in tears. I had a panic attack in recovery before I could see my baby. Physical recovery, while all told went well enough, was horrible because I was unable to follow my doctor's directions. I could barely lift my newborn but had to, as well as my 2 year old. I bled, I ached, my mobility was shot, I couldn't drive, I popped stitches. I still can't feel anything in the scar area, and that was almost a year ago. 
Having a c-section enabled me to have my third child, but also robbed me of something. And I hate being forced to have it done. It is not something I would choose unless my other option was death. There are lots of women that feel similarly and are vocal about it. I don't blame them. 
There's also the concern about the increasing tendency for doctors to push c-sections, which is troublesome.

A lot of doctors will push for a c section even when not medically necessary, just because it's easier for them. Believe it or not, doctors do not always have your best interest in mind. C sections are hell to recover from, so most women would like to avoid one at all costs.

I don't think it's the fact they hating on it but more of not wanting the longer healing process! And it's not as easy as having a Vaginal birth.. And just because the doctor recommends it doesn't mean the person needs to be happy about it.. But I'm sure they will go along with the doctors best choice of what should be done either way even though they hate the thought of a c-section and I'm one of those people

Exactly! My sister is having a baby and has to have a C-section because she will DIE if she doesn't! She was in a car accsident years ago and her body can't handle the pressure because of her perminant injuries. Fuck the haters I say!!!🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻

A lot of times its recommended when it's not the safest option because some doctors are plain lazy.  That's not to say it's not necessary in some instances.
