Baby Logan was born yesterday

Yesterday morning around 9:36am I began to have contractions that were 10 minutes apart, and at times 7 minutes apart. I've been having contractions on and off for weeks so this was nothing new for me, nor was I alarmed. Around 10:53am the contractions got to the point where they were annoying which prompted me to eat something in case we had to head to the hospital. I decided to grab an early lunch around 11am.

Around 11:10am my water broke. I took a quick shower, put on a maxi dress and grabbed several hand towels to catch the amniotic fluid that was leaking with every contraction. My husband and I loaded the kids into the car, I called the doctor's office and told them we were headed to the hospital and that my contractions were about 10 minutes apart. As we drove down the highway, my contractions became more intense and I called the office again and told them I needed a delivery room upon arrival to the hospital. They said the staff would determine what type of room I needed to be in when I got there. 

Within 10 minutes of that call, my contractions were on top of each other and I began to feel a lot of pressure. My husband was flying down the highway trying to rush us there after I told him I didn't think we were going to make it. I said, "Lord please don't let me deliver the baby in this car." But another contraction or so and his head was crowning. I told everyone this was it and unlatched my seatbelt. I moved the bottom of my dress out of the way, pushed my pelvis up and in one or two pushes his head was out. Another one or two pushes and my baby boy was here!! I didn't drop him, he didn't hit the seat, I just scooped him as he came out and held him against my chest until we got to the hospital. 

Once at the hospital, I delivered the placenta and the staff worked to make sure we both were ok and had everything we needed. He's healthy, I'm fine as well. I didn't tear so I didn't need any stitches. It's funny because I prayed for a quick and easy labor and I wanted to do it naturally. Praise God for coming through and in an unexpected way at that!! Little Logan certainly made a splash coming into this world, wonder what else is in store for this life of his. ❤️
