My boyfriends anger

His anger is out of contort if he's mad he will break things , kick things and yell. He swears of course. He treats everyone around him like crap that says sorry while he already stressed me out. I feel like if I break up with him he's gonna go crazy. I know he has a mental issue and he also suffered from depression what should I do ? I feel trapped ....
