My gender surprise delivery

I decided to be induced at 41+3. For a long time (well the past 10 days) I refused induction but finally decided this child wasn't going to come into the world without some motivation. I had my membranes stripped a couple days before, lost my mucous plug a few weeks before and did pretty much every thing they suggest to induce labor. I was dilated at 2 cm and was about 50% effaced. On Friday morning 6/17/16 I checked into the hospital at 10 o'clock to start induction. The doctor on-call wanted to send me home even though the day before arrangements were made for my induction. Pitocin was finally started at 12:30. Contractions at first for mild and. Like but around 330 they started to get more intense. I had asked the nurse to check my status and she said that I was about 4 to 5 cm. Knowing myself I knew I would be going towards 10 very soon. While I had said I would try to go without the epidural I caved in. While laying down for the epidural I felt intense pressure in the urge to push. I kept quiet because I did not want them to not give me the epidural LOL! My water broke while they were placing the epidural as well. Sure enough, I was checked right after and baby was ready to come!! I did a maybe 3 rounds of pushing and my baby girl was placed on my chest. After I delivered, the dr couldn't believe that it all happened so fast, adding he for sure thought we wouldn't have any baby here until 3 am 🙄
