Cervical check

I went in for my 36 week appointment and dr checked cervix. She said that I won't be having my son any time soon. She said he was super high and my cervix was hard and tightly closed. Has anyone else been told this and went in the next week and had progress? Not wanting him to come early but if I have to keep on getting checked each week I'm hoping to see some sort of progress but I know that's not really up to me lol if he could at least drop a little...My ribs might not be able to take much more of his abuse 😂
