My mother is... 😡
18 weeks tomorrow and since I haven't been a fan of this second trimester I decided to schedule and pay for a sonogram to ease my mind.
I'm talking to my mom and I mention that I had a sono set for this afternoon - she asks if she could come and since I was in a good mood I said yes. Since I'm 18 weeks the place I went to only had a gender package available for me I didn't mind because I was still going to get to see my baby - I should mention that we found out baby's gender a little over 2 weeks ago via genetic testing but we decided not to tell anyone AND no one knows that we know either - enter today - - because only a handful of people know I'm pregnant we still wanted to keep baby girls gender under wraps so I made it a point, multiple times, that I didn't want to 'know' the gender - fast forward to the end of the exam and the sonographer turned off the screens and asks us to turn away, well my mom didn't and wouldn't even when the sonographer asked her to multiple times; She said no, that I was being mean and she was not going to turn around (she made a complete fool of herself durning the exam too asking the most ridiculous questions like does the baby have skin, Have a brain, and if the baby has teeth yet!!! You could tell the sonographer was sooo over my mother by the middle of the appointment and honestly so was I!!) long story short she learned the baby's gender and as we were walking out of the exam room said 'I know what it is!!!' and pointed to a large PINK letter 'G' they had sitting on a shelf! I was sooo mad because as far as she knows we didn't know and we didn't want to know!!! and still told us!!! - if we really had no idea as she was led to believe she would've ruined the surprise. She's my mother and I love her but I'm just so mad and shocked that she could be this... I don't even know what to call it.. Cruel? Vindictive?? STUPID?? Ughhh! I just needed to vent a bit! I can't help but still feel soo angry!!
