When will we feel normal again?

Question

How long after giving birth do you feel "normal" again? I mean, I long for the day when I can breathe again. Or when I could wash dishes without my back hurting. Or when I just didn't have a general constant wave of exhaustion washed over me all day.

Do all the pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms go relatively quickly once you've given birth?

You will have a new normal! Love you for this though. Most of the physical pains go, but you enter a whole new world. Every cry has you running. Sleep no longer matters, dishes can wait. You will hurt inside anytime your baby is uncomfortable or in pain. And watching them grow knowing you have to let go a little each day is a feeling like no other. Knowing you can't and shouldn't fix everything for them. But the love, and the smiles and laughter. Well it's all worth it.

"Normal" is highly overrated 😝 it'll be a new kind of exhausted. You'll likely drop closer to delivery which will help with breathing. Yes generally all the aches and pains of pregnancy will go away shortly after delivery. You still have recovery from whatever delivery you have and that can be different lengths of time for that. I've had all vaginal deliveries so I don't have any personal experience recovering from a csection but I had a bad tear with my first and it was a long very tough recovery...my second seemed a pretty typical recovery but I ended up with gallbladder issues which made recovery more difficult, my third I was out and about the day we were discharged from the hospital.

My new normal is exhausted. I can't breathe when I look at my kids and realize how amazing and wonderful they are and that I made these beautiful little people. My back aches while I hold baby in one arm and do whatever I need to with the other hand. I still wouldn't have it any other way 😊

My first is 20 months old and I still don't feel normal. Granted I'm pregnant again but I honestly don't think I felt normal in between the two pregnancies. it's a different kind of normal now.

Oh the pain is just start to begin after giving a birth! Pregnancy is nothing compared to the recovering pain plus taking care of an infant. Nobody told me this before my first son, it was a big shock. But my baby was also so coliky; cried 24/7 the first 5.5months so it didn't make it any easier. Also, my birth was long and difficult and I ripped badly.  Hoping this time around the birth will be easier and the baby will be easier.

Feeling you! I would love to know the answer to this too, my body aches and I feel like I'm stuck in a foggy cloud of emotion and exhaustion. Finish work in 2 weeks hallelujah!
