maternity leave?

I know my maternity leave want be any time soon but how does it work? Im due september 30th, so i was thinking my last day of work would be september 16th until i came back from having my baby.. I know some people work until they have there baby. But can any one explain to me how it all works? And after you have the baby

I'm only allowed 6 weeks of unpaid leave, so I'm working up until my baby is born and then going back as soon as I can. I live in Florida and since I'm part time they don't have to give me paid leave. I was overlooked for a full time position in my store since I'm pregnant and they didn't want to have to pay me six weeks when I'm not in the store. I'm sure when I come back then there will be a new full time opening that they want me for. 😒

You should prob ask your HR person. I think every employer is different. (In the US anyway) for example mine let's you take up to 12 weeks but you have to be approved for FMLA and you dont get paid. You can use sick/vacation hours or use a short term disability policy to get paid, that is it.

Differs from employer to employer but at my job I get 6 weeks paid then I can exhaust whatever PTO I've accrued (I'm using an additional 4 weeks probably). I'm working until I go to the hospital, just gotta let my manager know as soon as I can.

Have you looked into FMLA?  it's up to 12 weeks unpaid though. That is what I'm doing. Good luck. In 2018 it because a paid FMLA. we are a little too early.

We're aloud up to 6 weeks unpaid maternity leave. We just have to give a heads up of when it will be around and how long we want to take. Hubby asked for 2 weeks off around sept 30th thinking he'll leave a couple days before then to help me get everything ready, prep for labor and relax before it all happens

Are you US or Uk? Uk you can take maternity after 29weeks and your allowed 52 weeks. (BASIC: 6 weeks at 90%, 33 weeks at statuary rate of £138.96 then 13 weeks un paid) plus 7 weeks full pay annual leave. So ill be off work 59 weeks 😀
