Positive TB Test?!?!

I want to volunteer at a hospital, and I am freaking out. Part of volunteering is that you have to do a background check and a TB blood test... The lady called me and said I have to retake the test.... It came back positve. So I did and the results just came back... I AM FREAKING OUT REALLY HARD.💔😭😖

It's not that unusual, it doesn't always mean that you have TB. It just means it's dormant Im your system because you've been Im contact with it. You will just have to do an X-ray to make sure you don't have it. I also had to take pills for a while to prevent the chances of it coming active but don't freak out and be scared it's not as big of a deal as it may seem now. And I got tested because I work with kids and as long as your X-rays come back good you should still be able to do nursing.

What test is it?  There are screening tests for NK CD-57 cell count that are often used to screen for TB but can also be suppressed low due to chronic Lyme's disease ... which is a much more common condition.

Exactly what Kelsey said. same thing happened with me! I went to get a TB test for a mission trip I was going on and within like 5 minutes I knew it was positive. That was 10 years ago and I have never had a problem. But you will always have to document a negative X-ray. I had to take some random med for like 9 months though as a precaution. That is honestly the only thing that sucked!
