Dilation? So confused, help lol!!

Ok so Thursday I will be 38 weeks. Last week when I went to the doctors she said I was pretty much at a 3. Well today when I went she said I was between a 1-2!?!? I'm so confused! She leaves next Thursday to go out of town, the nurse and the girls up front told me to come in that day before she leaves the office and asked to be induced since I'll be 39 weeks that day.. I don't want to be induced, I was so excited bout going natural, but now my hopes are gone :( Plus she scheduled my next appointment for the day after my due date! Wtf?!?

I don't think they can induce you if there's no medical reason. Plus you're only 39 weeks. You can go up to 42 weeks. Just let her know you don't wanna be induced.

I don't know why the nurses would tell you to ask to be induced unless they're just assuming you'd want to have your baby shower rather than later.

But scheduling an appt. for after your due date is normal. I'd you haven't gone into labor by then, they'll still want to check on you and then discuss when/whether induction might be a good idea.

Tell her you don't want to be induced. Also, my Dr is going out of town from the 11-18th and I'm due the 23rd, they have me seeing another doc in the practice and say it's no big deal if my dr doesn't end up delivering me and that even if she was in town, she's not on call every night- so that could happen anyways. Plus they are only there for a little bit.
