Surrogate mother
I want to become a gestational surrogate mom. This means that another couple's eggs and sperm would create an embryo that would be placed in my uterus to grow for 9 months. The baby would have no genetic relation to me.
The compensation can be incredible, for first time surrogates sometimes it can be upwards of 40K. This would help with school fees IMMENSELY. Not only that, but I'm going to school to be a midwife, so having the experience of pregnancy and birth would be invaluable for my studies.
Is it ridiculous that I want to do this? Am I crazy? Is it wrong for me to want to do this for money/experience instead of "compassion" towards an infertile couple? What are your thoughts?? What questions would you want answered if you were in my situation?
The only possible problem is that I've never been pregnant, and most (but not all) agencies require that you've had at least one baby before becoming a surrogate.
