Promise ring! 😁😁

So I am 17 and my boyfriend of a year and 3 months got me a beautiful promise ring. But the hard part is going to be when my parents find out. They aren't really in to that stuff and are really strict. They frown apon it. I'm not sure how to tell them about it. I was thinking about keeping it from them and just whenever they see me wearing it i guess tell them about. It's so much easier with his parents because they know how strong our love is for each other. But my parents just think "oh y'all are only in highschool you don't need to worry about that until your in your late 20's". Basically they thinks it's stupid, so any advice on this?
