Should I go to the doctor..?

About a week ago I had like a stabbing pain in my left side of my abdomen while my boyfriend and we're having sex. Since then it has hurt in the same spot, with the same stabbing pains when I use the restroom, have sex. We thought maybe he had hit something so we tried using a smaller toy a few days ago and it hurt so bad with it hardly going in. I tend to jump straight to conclusions and go to the doctor way too much... Should I wait it out a bit longer or go in? Any ideas on what it could be?
