When exactly do Anti-depression and anxiety pills start working???

Im a cutter have been since 16 im 29 smfh i kno....The other day I overdosed on my sisters pills jus getting out of the hospital Friday and have to got follow up with a doctor tomorrow...ive been put on anxiety and anti depression pills?? Anybody else taking something and how is it working im on Zoloft and im still miserable as ever before how long does it take to actually help me cope with my miserable life.

It can take a few days to a week for them to start working. Have you tried the rubber band around the wrist thing? There are a few "tricks" to help cutters not actually cut but still get a sting.
I constantly have a band round mine, only slipped twice in the last 2 1/2 years.

I have been on prozac for about 11 years at various doses, depending on how bad my depression has been. I think for depression meds it takes a week or two, but anxiety meds can be much quicker (my fiance takes some) I really hope you start to feel better. Don't feel guilty or like you are foolish- mental illness is like any medical issue. If you ever feel like talking message me. You aren't alone xx

When I was 15 I was put on Zoloft. I think the psychiatrist said 2-4 works to work

It typically takes 6 weeks to have their full effect but you should start to see improvements in your symptoms after 2-3. Sorry, they're not instantaneous. They need time to build up the neurotransmitters (chemicals) in your brain that they are working on.
