Postive opk day period is due

Ok so my period is due today. I'm usually very regular. I sometimes put a tampon in when I'm about to get af to check to see if it's coming. I have been doing that for the last few days and there's no blood or anything. That's kinda I unusual for me.  Anyway today o decided to pee on an opk and it was very postive. I ovulated on day 14 of my cycle. I have been cramping for about a week now. Does this just mean flow is on her way. I'm to scared to take a hpt
