Why it's okay to call your wife fat

Wow. I came across this blog post today..... I don't know what to think. Part of me thinks "No, you should always make her feel beautiful no matter her size." But if her health and your marriage is at risk, is it okay to ever call your wife fat?? Weird. But makes you think....

A great skill to have is knowing how to say things a different way. How you say something is everything. Name calling is not productive in any relationship.

It's never okay to outright call anyone fat in a degrading manner, but you are allowed be concerned about your partners weight and health.

If I was getting fat to the point it was effecting my daily life and our relationship, I would expect my partner to tell me, and I would do the same for him.

There are few excuses to be morbidly obese. Laziness and binge eating are the main cause.
You are not "big boned".
I'm big boned, I have heavy and dense bones, but I'm morbidly obese, or even obese. I'm slightly overweight which is my own doing and I'm working on it.

So no, it's not wrong to say any of this to your partner when you are concerned about their health and wellbeing.
I don't care what anyone says, you can't be healthy and obese at the same time.

If your spouse really needs to lose weight you don't just say "hey, you're fat" there are much better ways to put it, and if you honestly want to help them you don't threaten your marriage.

I would stay with my husband through anything. Even if he was 600 pounds. You better believe I would be making him diet food and getting his ass moving daily. But there's no way I would degrade him or threaten our marriage. I love him, that's why I married him. "in sickness and health" and obesity is a sickness.

Honestly, help them lose weight in a supportive way. That's all.

Do call her fat say something more positive like "let's go for runs together" or "wanna be my workout buddy" never make her feel bad. And if she doesn't get the hints then be like "I noticed you have gained some weight and I don't think it's the best for your health let me help you" ALWAYS BE POSITIVE

I would never be with a man who would be affected by weight or looks to the point a marriage would suffer. Anyone that shallow isn't someone for me sorry. And a person doesn't need anyone to tell them their fat to keep their weight in check. If they are going to get to 600 pounds they will get there, name calling isn't going to stop that.

I wouldn't honestly hope my BF would tell me if I looked large in something or if something wasn't flattering on me. He doesn't think I'm ugly. Sometimes having another view can really help.

I agree...is want my husband to be honest with me...not flat out call me fat but things like maybe it's time to workout or I'm putting on some weight ect
