When are you telling people?

So I'm only 5w4d and I like the idea of waiting until after my first prenatal appt (in a month) but I don't know if I can wait that long!! I'm dying to tell people since it's hard to keep a secret. I don't have morning sickness yet so maybe if I get that I'll tell people.

Have you ladies told people / when?

We were planning on waiting at least until 8 weeks, but fiancé spilled the beans last week (4w3d) to his parents when we went out to lunch😂 I have yet to tell my family as they live in another country but I'm building up my courage to do it soon. I see no harm in telling this early, likelihood of miscarriage is very low for me and just in general, why not celebrate this wonderful time? Worst scenario, you have a support system if something does happen, God forbid.

Our philosophy was to share it with the people who we know would be there for us if something negative happened... we shared earlier than most people would because we had gone through so many rounds of IVF and people were waiting for an answer after the last Embryo transfer.

It's completely up to you when you want to tell people. There is no rule in when & when not to tell people. We have told our close family & friends as this is our first & it's a very happy moment. Not matter when you tell people there is always risk. I'm a positive person & i think you shouldn't be scared to tell people if you are so over the moon. Life is life.. I look at it as if I need the support of my family if something goes wrong then I will have it & they will be there for me.

We told our parents and siblings at 4 weeks, some aunts, uncles and grandparents at 6 weeks. The rest we will wait for 12

5wks 4 days is way too early to tell anyone - risk of miscarriage won't fall away for another 7 weeks! I'm 6 weeks & wont be telling anyone for another 6, I don't want to have to explain to 100s of people if something happens... Xx

Currently 6w and I told a handful of close friends already. We haven't told parents yet. Planning on waiting around 12 weeks since we had a MC in Dec. then we'll announce to everyone by week 13!

I am soooo excited and literally can't wait to share our great news. Everyone has been waiting for us to have a baby and it's finally happenin!

I am 7w6d and we are planning to wait to tell anyone until I am past the first trimester. We have a bit of apprehension about sharing the news as we are not sure how supportive our families will be at first. And for now it is our personal celebration and joy. I will admit, I am usually terrible at keeping secrets and there have been some close calls, as my mom and I are close and it is hard to keep such big news from her. But for now it is also something quite intimate for my fiancé and I to know this is our little secret. ☺️

We are telling my in-laws today and my parents next week. I'm between 5 and 6 weeks and haven't had my doctor's appt (it's Wednesday). We have told a couple of people. We won't announce it officially until closer to 12 weeks though.
