Period in basic training?

So I go in for basic training next month and basically and I want to know if it's a good idea to get on birth control to completely stop my period from coming or should I just leave it alone?

They will offer you free birth control there within the first week or two (at least they did in the Navy) either way I'd leave it be for now. It added a lot of changes to my body and your body may already hate you with the lack of sleep and more exercise.

1. Women have been getting periods during basic since they were able to join the military. I've never been through basic but I come from a military family so I'm sure they have some sort of protocol for that.

2. You could take birth control for that reason; when I was talking to a recruiter I found out that you can only take birth control in the military to prevent pregnancy not any other medical reason (like how I take them for cramps and such).

I went to AF bmt  in 2015 if your on birth control you can stay in it and they give you refills. A lot of girls where on it. Sometimes you don't have a period in bmt other time you have it all the time. Your going to around a lot of girls just make sure you have pads and tampons in your web belt
