Spotting or period!

So on wednday when I got home from work and went to the rr I had light spotting in the toliet paper. I was prepare to get my period. And later on when I went to the rr again it was blood on the paper. So I wore a pad. Thrusday morning pad was clean. Got home and I had brown spotting which is old blood. Later on had light spotting. Friday brown spotting again. So I'm confused what is going on here. Im I gonna get my period soon or I'm I on my period. And I haven't spotted since Friday. Help!
