Is this normal? Or is he losing his mind?

My poor dog is 13 yr old, but is physically in excellent shape. Within the past 6 months or so, he'll start barking randomly if he is left in a room by himself. All the doors are open, and he's free to go anywhere he wants. But instead, he stands there barking til I come to him. When he sees me, he takes of running towards me & is fine then. Not to be rude, but it's kinda driving me crazy! I asked his vet, and received no answers from her.

It sounds like he's having eye problems. My dog starting doing that around 12/13 cause she wasn't able to really see anything anymore and we didn't know obviously. But then she started running into walls, falling in the pool, barking at lights cause that's all she could really see. It was sad :(

Our life long family dog I'm pretty sure hits 17 this year and she's in amazing shape for how old she is. But it's like she's losing her mind too like, she'll stare at one thing for a loooong time and just like spin in circles and then bark at the wall or go outside and just stare at the street, my mom took her to the vet and they just said she's getting old and nutty but that she's perfect considering how old she is. He just said keep an eye on her and as long as she's eating/drinking/pooping and peeing that she's okay.

Is it possible he is having eye problems? U def should take em to.the vet to get to see what's going on. Maybe even video tape it for them. But yeah he could also have some form of dementia where he forgets what he's doing or where he is for a moment. Idk. Good luck tho!

My baby does that all the time. She's going blind and deaf. She's 13 ❤️

He might be having trouble with his eyesite. He might not be totally blind, but if he gets in a room and can't find his way out, he could get frustrated.

He's old. What do you expect? They can develop some problems just like humans do.
