How strict will you be with your kids and dating?

What rules do you have/will you have for your kids and dating?

I'll have ground rules.

But as long as they're being safe, being smart and are treating each other with love and respect, and respect the few rules I will lay down, I shouldn't have to step in.

They'll do it anyway behind your back. You might as well let them be open and honest about it instead of them thinking its wrong or dirty.

For one I'm meeting their date, I will know who all will be there, where they will be, they will have curfew and if they are late, without ahwads up, even 1min late they will be grounded. I don't think that's strict.

I think it's important to learn. I want my children to be knowledgeable before they enter that part of their lives. Ultimetely, it is there decision what they want to do with their bodies, but they also must know that, as a parent, it's not part of the job description to deal with the consequences of their actuons. However, believe me, theyll know all about pregnany, intercourse, and stds before they even think of looking around. I might even do a quick lesson on the price of children and independent living.

I will take a page from my mom's book. I wasn't allowed to go on dates with boys unsupervised until I was 16. I wasn't allowed to have boyfriends in my room and she had to meet everyone I went out with friends and boyfriends. I wasn't allowed to ride with any teens that had their license less than 2 years.

Strict enough id say. The purpose of dating is to get to know someone with the intention of marrying them, so until they are old enough (18) to start thinking of making a life with someone there will be no dating.

If they're not dating a huge bigot, a cheat, a criminal, then it's their choice and I'm not going to get involved any further than just teaching them to be safe and responsible. Dating is a part of growing up, experimenting and learning about people, relationships, and ones own feelings and values. You take away so so many learning opportunities and experiences by restricted them.

No assholes. I have to meet him. They have to be friends.  
My daughter has special needs. If shes in a wheelchair my rules would be stricter. Just to protect her. No one will be hurting her. Ever

My mom was suuuuuper strict when it came to boys at all. And she tried to get all up in it which was horrible. By that I mean she would want them to come over and she would interrogate them and she would even want to meet his parents.. Like wtf? We're 16 years old you act like is going somewhere 😂 anyway my point is, that led to me sneaking out, texting/sexting older men, rebelling in general. To this day my mom doesn't know the truth of when I lost my virginity, who it was with, or how many I've been with at all. We did not have an open relationship or good communication at all. I hope to have a great relationship and great communication with my kid.
