Mesh bumper pads

My baby's crib has no bumper pads, but now that she is getting more mobile she's getting her legs caught in the bars. She just woke up with blood curdling screams because of it. She wasn't hurt, just scared. As soon as I rescued her, she was fine. My question is whether or not any of you have this problem? Are those mesh bumper pads safe? She has managed to get her face up against the bars before too, so that would be my big worry with any kind of bumper pad.
