Psoriasis after birth???

Question

I think I've developed psoriasis or eczema on my arm!! It's all bumpy! It doesn't itch or flake but it's so annoying! It just came out of nowhere after giving birth July 1st. I'm breastfeeding idk if that has anything to do w it. Can psoriasis or eczema just appear after 31 years?!

Sometimes autoimmune disorders (like both of the above) appear after giving birth because with less progesterone to suppress your immune system, it goes nuts ... Among other hormone changes. A family member lost all her hair to alopecia after giving birth. Autoimmune diseases are worsened by inflammation, so try an anti inflammatory diet - Google it - and if you're serious about it, cut out the big problem foods like gluten & dairy, and sugars for some ppl. Then if it improves, add things back in one by one to see what made the difference. Hopefully it's temporary hormonal and your body will regulate, but you can help it out a bit! Might see a doc too about low dose progesterone based BC. GL

If it's not flakey it would be eczema. I've had psoriasis my entire life and it flakes and itches. There is over the counter cream you can get for it. I'm not sure if it can just show up but I don't think it would be impossible.
