So reluctant to tell my parents

We have told my partner's dad and basically all our friends. I HAVE to tell my family but for some weird reason I'm scared they won't have a happy reaction. We aren't married and my family is super traditional. Any advice? We don't have plans to get married though probably will at some point. We've both been married before and it's just not the most important thing to us. I know it matters to my family though. 😔
