Mouth washed out with soap?

Did your parents ever do it to you? Will you do it to your kids?

I see all these posts on spanking and never one about getting your mouth washed out with soap. If I talked back or said something foul to my mother, you best bet I got my mouth washed out with soap and was told to never say whatever I said again.

We're Mexican. We don't deal with soap in the mouth we have soemthing called the chancla and that ish gets thrown at u ALL the time and if u dodge it you have to give it back to ur parent so they can throw it right back at you. 👞💨 
They'll sometimes do chile in the mouth but that isn't really much of a punishment since we like spicy and our kids eat hot Cheetos by the age of one.. Lol

I had liquid soap at the age of 12 for saying fricken. It wasn't too horrible. Just swish and spit. Then rinse my mouth out with water so I didn't get sick. The second time I got a chunk of bar soap I had to chew up and spit out. That left a few blisters in my mouth. My dad felt absolutely horrible for that one and never did it again. Long story short, my child will not get soap of any kind put in their mouth. It's not made for going in your mouth, it's not going in there.

That's one thing that never happened today me as a kid but we had a kid die from that in our town when I was young so that probably scared a lot of guardians. I won't do it to my kid.

They would make us squeeze liquid soap into our mouths until they said stop. I won't be doing that to our children.

No my parents used like two drops of hot sauce when I cussed, and I had to keep it on there for ten seconds before I could drink anything. It wasn't painful or mean, I just didn't like spicy things

Yeah. My nanna did it and I accidentally freaked out and bit down and swallowed a piece of soap and I got really sick.

We're mexican..if we did something wrong, we got hit with chanclas, spatulas or the belt. If we said something wrong, we got chile in our mouth or smacked. Another thing is, if we did something wrong for a 2nd time..say we got punished for saying "Stupid or shut up" and later did it again..my parents turned on the stove, grabbed our hand..and threatened to put our hand on the fire, if we didn't agree to not do it again and had to apologize... I'm not sure if it's actually ever happened to any of my brothers, but I never got burned. Those were only some of the punishments we dealed with.

It seems a bit barbaric to me. I'll stick with spanking.
