Any of you plan on keeping your ring?

Debate on how you feel about rings. I know a lot of ladies love LOVE what our loved ones gave us but ever think about upgrading on anniversaries or these days it's so competitive in any retail let alone jewlery and how beautiful so many of them are. Caught myself looking at a link that popped up on FB and going through rings. YIKES. PRETTTTYYY

I'm definitely keeping my original engagement and wedding band. A replacement will never be able to replace all that's tied behind my original. We did upgrade the diamond on my engagement ring though.

My husband and I couldn't afford what we wanted when first got married. We decided that at our 10 year anniversary we would upgrade. I'll still keep my original ring but wear my new since that's what I'm buying it for. To me it's not replacing anything.

My mom kept her ring and didn't wear it, even after she upgraded.

This was her first set. ⬇️
 
She left it in the safety deposit box for 13 years and didn't do anything with it and then I ended up using the center stone for my engagement ring!

I plan on keeping my set forever, it's simple and small but so me! Not to mention for me there are too many cool rings out there other than wedding related ones. My sister in law just upgraded and I told my SO if he ever considers the whole upgrade thing to instead let me get an interesting new ring on etsy. I see so many unique colored stone rings, I'd much rather have an entirely new piece of jewelry than an upgrade!

My husband asked me the other day if I would like to get a new one or upgrade it. I said NO without hesitation. I told him if he wants to get me a new ring then it's fine but it's  not going to be a wedding ring. In my opinion I want to keep it exactly the same way he gave it to me that way 20+ years later I will be looking at the same exact ring no change or even an upgrade. But that's just my personal opinion :)
