How can I tell if I'm having contractions?

I have back pain that gets worse at times and my stomach is REALLY tight be pretty much has been for a while this evening. How can I know? I'm 38 weeks

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and hadn't had any issues or problems so bleesed

It's a good idea to lay down and close your eyes and relax, you can time them to see if their real. Also, if you make yourself a warm bath and lay in it they should stop, unless their real :) make sure you are keeping your body relaxed, the more tense you are the more painful and exhausting contractions become. If they are real and they are coming at 15, 10 ,5 minutes apart, you can start feeling them coming on and that's when you know to take a deep breath, relax every muscle and as its surging through your body let out the breath and let it work! It helps so much and it actually saves a lot of energy for the hardest part of pushing that baby out!
