Cramping spotting and back pain

I woke up this morning a little crampy but brushed it off as normal. Then got to work and noticed my back hurting a little bit, then a few hours later I went to the bathroom and had some brown mixed in with my discharge when I wiped.. I was going to post a pic but I couldn't figure out the whole TMI thing.. I called the dr and they just told me to go home and rest..
