Dilation Check???

Question

My doctor will check me next week to see if I'm dialated. What does that entail? Is it the same as a membrane sweep? Will it hurt? Trying to get myself mentally prepared especially if there is pain involved.

It depends on who does it for me, with my doctor is only hurt a little. Then I had a nurse in L&D who did it and I immediately demanded a new nurse because it was the most painful thing ever. But really it just all depends. Sometimes wasn't bad at all other times it was. It's exciting to know how dilated you are though!!

Mine is always really uncomfortable. There's a lot of pressure and mine hurts so bad. Every woman is different though they just lube it up with belly and insert their hand. Only takes like 10 seconds
