Pain in breast?

Today I noticed when I fed my baby I'd get a sharp shooting pain in my breast when she'd eat. Not my nipple, but my actual breast.  As the day went on I noticed I'd get the pain once she was finished as well and now the other breast is getting the pain too. I have no idea what it could be, does anyone know? Thanks

Check with an LC. There can be several reasons for that. Besides thrush, it can also be improper latching and positioning.

Sounds like the beginning of thrush. If it's kind of a burning pain--definitely thrush. See a lactation consultant ASAP. I went to my OB instead and they didn't listen to my symptoms, automatically assumed it was mastitis and put me on an antibiotic that only fueled the thrush more. Now 3 weeks later I can't seem to get rid of it.

Shooting pains can also sometimes be thrush.

I experienced the same. I believe it happens to some women when their milk lets down. It was uncomfortable for awhile after feeding too. But over time it should stop being painful.

Maybe a clogged duct. Mastitis makes your breasts hard and hot and painful so probably not that. Ive been having the same but its the first time. Im 3mo pp and I just started bc so idk what the problem is.
