Vitex!?

Question

So I bought a bottle of vitex today to help me regulate my periods and help me concieve. 
Has anyone taken it and how much a day did you take?
how long did it take for you to regulate your periods and concieve?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi Kasey, it might be a moot point now as it was a long time ago when you wrote your comment but just in case it helps anyone: Vitex can be a bad idea for *some* women with PCOS but it depends on the specific levels and symptoms you specifically have. As Vitex is known to increase levels of LH and, in turn, increase natural production of Progesterone this can be difficult for women who already have typically high levels of LH as part of their PCOS type. It tends to increase levels of androgens in that instance which some women with PCOS definitely don’t need more of and can trigger further imbalance leading to depression and symptoms associated with it.  However, if your type of PCOS is Adrenal based (as opposed to insulin resistant) and you suffer from Adrenal fatigue, Vitex can serve as a wonderful remedy for helping the pituitary gland regulate itself, therefore having a positive effect on the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal axis, leading to balanced cortisol, higher levels of Progesterone and overall balanced hormones. It has been proven to bring on a period within 3 months of regular use, best taken first thing in the morning when the pituitary gland is most receptive and at the correct dosage for your individual body to feel proper positive benefits. I take 800mg each morning and I’m one month in. My PCOS type is Adrenal and since taking it my mood has lifted, I have a better overall sense of wellbeing and the fluttery anxiety I used to experience in my stomach has all but completely gone. I generally feel calmer, happier, have more energy and cope better with daily stresses. The only odd symptoms I have had were headaches in the first few days (similar to those you get when you stop drinking caffeine) and I’m still experiencing really odd dreams and nightmares, but they are mellowing as time goes on - I’d imagine they’re being triggered by hormone disruption as things take effect and hopefully they’ll dissipate as things improve. Before I began the Vitex 34 days ago (during my last period - I’m horrendously irregular & hadn’t been ovulating, some of my cycles were more than 100 days long) I’d been prescribed micronised bio-identical plant derived progesterone at my own request through a consultant gynaecologist. I was taking it cyclically in the latter 14 days of each month and it was bringing on a period much more regularly but after a while I couldn’t ignore the fact anymore that all it was doing was giving my body something externally that it wasn’t producing properly on its own, so the periods I was having weren’t really happening naturally or through my own body’s process. This is when I finally decided to bite the bullet, come off the Progesterone treatment and try Vitex.From the research I’ve done (there are some wonderful testimonials on YouTube by women who’ve been taking Vitex for years now and have seen real changes and achieved amazing successes), it can take between 3 & 6 months of continuous use to see real benefits and positive changes in your cycle so I’m going to keep on trucking with it each day for the next 2 - 5 months to see how I go and what happens. I’m on day 34 now and I did feel like I experienced ovulation cramps and pains just over a week ago so I’m hoping a period will come shortly but it’s definitely a game of patience. I’m going to stick with it and see what happens.I hope everyone here felt and saw benefits in the end.

I have PCOS I took 1 whole bottle the way it says to take it and actually started my period BUT went to the doctor a week later and she said that it is bad for pcos patients because it messes hormones up worse than they already are.

Did it cause u to bleed. Vitex caused me to bleed for 30 days
