Cereal at 1 month??

My baby is one month and eating 30-40 oz of breastmilk a day. Our pediatrician suggested adding a smal amount of cereal to his milk. Has anyone else done this so early? I'm really hesitant because he's only a month old!

You can add a very watered down amount to it, it helps their stomach stay fuller (especially if they need help sleeping through the night). I don't actually know how to add it to the formula in the correct way, you'd probably have to Google it. It's the old generation trick before the government started telling you what was safe.

I did. It helped him through his growth spurts. Everyone I know did it also. If youre clogging the bottle its way too thick. It helps with acid reflux too.

This is what they do for baby's with acid reflux! Totally safe. One month, you're only putting a tiny bit anyway.. I did this when my baby was 2 months. Just a pinch.

Don't do it, their digestive systems are not developed enough to handle that at 4 weeks.

Be careful actually adding it to the milk because you will have to use a heavier flow nipple and it can bunch up and both can cause chocking. I did do this with both of my daughters though it was easier for me to mix with the milk warm.

My daughter started at 4 weeks I add to breast milk bc she has bad reflux and haven't had a problem. No constipation or anything. Also I think oatmeal is healthier but ask the dr because I've heard bad things about rice cereal
