Compliments

Is it just me or does anyone else value compliments from woman more than men? Like if a guy says I look beautiful today in my head I'll instantly think "Yeah okay. How many women have you tried that line on before?" and tell him thanks half-heartedly. But if a woman says I look beautiful today I'll instantly respond with a high pitched thank you and compliment her back.
