3 days late, negative pregnancy test.

Hi all, my period is now 3 days late. I took a pregnancy test one day before my missed period and got a negative result. I did the test late at night (sorry for too much information) but only had a tiny wee (I was too eager to test!). Could that effect things? I'm new to all this. This is only our second month of trying. I'm trying not to get too excited but every day my period doesn't come I get more hopeful. I'm scared to take another test because of it comes back negative, I'll be crushed. Thanks!
